The Bluetooth Speaker v2.0

Repetition Right!

But this is interesting. The Bluetooth Speaker v2.0 is compulsorily for my Achan. The project idea began with his interest in Malayalam Old songs and composition of instruments in them,. He's one of a kind who loves the instruments and vocal sounds to be heard crisp and clear. Thought, why not build a powerful speaker system? (I call it the Sound Bar :P).

As already mentioned in my previous speaker build, one of the best material suited for speaker build is wood, and Plywood and teak being the best in the category. Hence, chosen Plywood for this build. I've gone with quarter inch plywood of medium quality and cut it to dimensions which were previously charted. As all the cutting was done by me, it came out so damn awesome :D

Once all the woodworking was done it was time to move on to Electronics. Collecting all the electronics, I had gone with a rather mid quality amplifier from China (YL2020), a 24w wall adapter, Bluetooth module (anyone will do, mine is a Bv4.0) etc. I salvaged the speakers from an old 5.1 broken speaker system, which reduced the overall cost drastically. For the first attempt, I connected every module to one another and gave it a test run, which kind of partially worked, but not well. The problem was the power supply, the one I used was a 12v 2A adapter type (The black plastic thing), which was able to deliver a maximum of 2A, which in return clipped the audio after 60% to 65% volume level.

The solution was an equivalent 24w POWER BRICK (The metal thing :) ), which solved the problem and was easily delivering peaks of 4.8A without any delay or difficulties. After the connections were properly made, I hot glued everything in place to the base panel. Also tested the output regularly to ensure proper working. For the wiring, I used .75sqmm Aluminium wire (Commonly called strip wire), which was more than enough for the use. All other complementary components like the Bluetooth module and the auxiliary input for external input, a switch etc were done accordingly.

Coming to the assembly, my awesome woodworking techniques proved themselves. None of them were squared correctly. A lot of sanding, filing, cleaning, repetition, were done to make every piece to the proper dimension. Then I nailed all the pieces to one another to complete the build. After which I gave the whole thing 2 coats of wood primer paint, accompanied with 3 coats of matte black spray paint. The whole build took around ₹800 for the build without speakers.

As the speaker was made for my Dad, I took one of his old black dhotis, tore to the dimension and used it for front covering of the speaker. :D :D After all the final touch-ups were done the speaker came out to be an impressive one, at least for my Mom's eyes. But, its a must say that the speaker sounds insane. Now its time for the reason. :)

DiY- Mosquito Bat Repair

Hi, This one is a rather simple Do it Yourself project. Recently, I found one of the dead mosquito bats in my room. The funny part being, there are a few of them here. One can certainly find that this piece of High Voltage equipment is one of those Chinese brains, in a sense that they use lower quality batteries, hence a much lower price of around ₹150 to ₹200. This itself was the obvious reason why I could find a bunch of them in my house.                   The problem, as you might have guessed, is the dead battery in the bat after a month or twice of use.  As I was having my semester exams, I decided to repair the bat. :) The first thing I did was to open up the bat and undoing all the screws and collecting them aside. After which, on a close examination, I found that the battery used was of such cheap quality. I used my beloved multimeter and checked the voltage of the battery which showcased a voltage of 4.1v. I assum...

Passive Infrared Sensor

A bit delayed post. :D Apologies...               Recently I received a few boards and accessories which was ordered previously through Ali Express. Don't mind if I say that AliExpress is one of the best marketing services for small electronics components. So, one among the boards was a PIR Relay Module which costs around ₹180 for me. In my house, I and my brother are the laziest and we don't use to turn off the lights once we leave the room. I wished I could install the board to the existing switch so as to make the lights automatic.                   Coming to the working principle of PIR Sensor, it usually consists of two special materials (Pyroelectric) which are sensitive to Infrared waves. When no change or motion occurs both the materials since the same amount of IR and stays idle. But as soon as there is a motion of a human or any changes which produces a difference in heat, the two material s...

Alternating Current v/s Direct Current

A rather simple topic! WHAT?        There are mainly two types of electricity in this world, namely Alternating Current (AC) & Direct Current (DC). But before that what is current? In theory, it's just a flow of electron, but in a practical scenario I've seen anything like that, what I felt is a torturing heat, and that's because of a higher CURRENT!. The supply we get in our house, industry, college almost everywhere is Alternating Current. Its produced from hydroelectric generators here, mainly. 'AC' man is seen as something like this when plotted in a graph. Mr. Alternating Current          Once again Mr. Faraday came into our context. According to his law  of electromagnetism predicts how a magnetic field will interact with an electric circuit to produce an electromotive force ( EMF). Consider a magnet with its south and north poles separated in space and when a coil rotates in between this poles...
